Usborne Illustrated Nursery Tales

Banuiam ca aceasta carte este minunata, insa cand a ajuns in mainile mele, mi s-au inmuiat genunchii. Este una dintre cele mai frumoase carti pe care le-am vazut in viata mea, o carte completa, perfecta si frumoasa de iti vine sa plangi cand o atingi.

Cred ca eu, daca as fi primit aceasta carte cand eram copil, as fi lesinat pe loc! La fel de mult sper ca o va impresiona si pe M. atunci cand i-o voi darui. Trebuie sa fie un moment special, de care sa isi aminteasca cu foarte mult drag atunci cand va creste si va privi copertile acestei carti.

Dar haideti sa v-o prezint si voua, haideti sa vedeti de ce sunt atat de entuziasmata cand vorbesc despre ea.

In cuprinsul cartii Illustrated Nursery Tales  (editura Usborne) intra 11 povesti, plus un capitol (“About the Stories”) in care celor mici le sunt explicate originile povestilor din carte.

Cartea este ilustrata senzational, atat de cald si de profund de catre Richard Johnson, incat iti vine sa te opresti la fiecare imagine si sa visezi cateva clipe pe marginea ei.

Ati observat deja, ea ajunge la cititor in cutie de protectie, fapt care ii adauga un urias plus in ceea ce priveste atentia la detaliu, eleganta si grija pentru copertile imbracate in panza ale cartii. 

Semnul de carte realizat din satin si insertiile aurii de pe materialul rosu ce imbraca aceasta carte sunt apogeul frumosului si al bunului gust, dupa parerea mea.

128 de pagini realizate din carton gros si lucios, de 269 x 215mm, va asteapta sa le rasfoiti si sa va indragostiti pur si simplu de ele.

Adaptarile povestilor ii apartin lui Felicity Brooks si sunt foarte reusite si inspirate.

Nu ma pot abtine, trebuie sa va las sa cititi si un fragment din povestea Hywel and the Mermaid:

One misty morning, Hywel the fisherman was sitting on a rock mending his nets. A little way out to sea some gulls were screeching and flapping around his little fishing boat as it bobbed up and down on the waves. […]

“I wish I could talk to her,” he thought and started striding across the sand towards her.

When he got closer, he opened his mouth and was about to speak, but let out a loud gasp of surprise. Instead of legs, the girl had a long, silvery tail which was flapping around on the rock.

Hywel had found a mermaid!

Nota: Eu la Ioana (Carti engleza copii) am descoperit aceasta fabuloasa carte si tot ei ii multumim din tot sufletul pentru surpriza fantastica pe care ne-a facut-o daruindu-ne-o!
